Every listed price includes taxes and studio rental; in-home lessons have an additional location-based travel fee. Multi-lesson packages expire one year after purchase; this expiration does not apply to the standalone one-lesson option. A nonrefundable $100 deposit secures your lesson time. Venmo, PayPal, and Stripe are accepted. If you cancel or reschedule any lesson with less than 24 hours’ notice, a late-change fee equal to half the single-lesson rate ($149.50) applies because the reserved instructor and studio time often cannot be offered to another couple. Unsupervised practice time is not included.
Meet Devon
Devon Near-Hill is a wedding dance instructor, teaching and performing artist, and Co-Founder and Co-Director of the Denver School of Social Dance.
Her movement background spans Brazilian Zouk, Lambada, salsa, tango, kizomba, ballet, modern dance, capoeira, belly dance, and more. She is a judge for the Brazilian Zouk and Lambada World Dance Councils and is known for specific, body-aware instruction grounded in connection, comfort, consent, and adaptable movement.
Devon holds a BFA in Acting from USC and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Expressive Arts Coaching and Community Building at the California Institute of Integral Studies.

Mile High First Dance welcomes LGBTQ+ couples, neurodivergent and differently abled learners, and partners of all genders, orientations, cultures, bodies, ages, and experience levels.
Lessons adapt around how you learn and move best—without judgment, pressure, or assumptions about roles. Devon’s adaptive teaching approach is also informed by workshops she has taken with DanceAbility International.

Three to four months is comfortable for many couples, but the right timeline depends on your goals. The Essentials can also provide focused preparation when time is short.
One lesson is a good starting point for exploring options, refreshing your skills, or getting focused guidance. Two lessons work well for streamlined preparation, five allow time for approachable choreography and confidence, and ten make room for extra polish, more dance styles, or family and wedding-party moments. Devon will recommend a fit during the consultation.
Yes. Devon can help identify a movement style that fits your music, personalities, clothing, venue, and desired level of choreography.
The All-In package may include parent dances, multiple dances, or wedding-party choreography. The consultation is the best place to shape the scope.
Absolutely. Devon does not assume gender roles, attire, relationship structure, or who should lead. Role-neutral leader and follower language is used unless you prefer something else.
Devon can use predictable lesson structure, verbal and visual explanations, movement demonstrations, repetition, processing time, breaks, and sensory-aware pacing. You never need to disclose a diagnosis.
Within her professional scope, Devon adapts movement around bodies, mobility, chronic conditions, injuries, and physical limitations. Share only what feels useful during the consultation.
Yes. Either partner can lead, you can switch roles, or you can explore a shared approach. Devon will use the language and structure that feel right for you.
Wear clothes and secure shoes that let you move comfortably. As the wedding approaches, practicing in shoes and clothing with a similar fit can be useful.
You will learn connection and recovery tools—not just a memorized sequence—so you can pause, reconnect, and continue without panic.
Choose CASA Dance Studio at 4025 Steele St or Denver Turnverein Dance Center at 1570 N Clarkson St when booking. Both are partner lesson locations, not Mile High First Dance-owned branches. Denver-area lessons in your home may also be available for an additional travel fee based on location.
When scheduling and location allow, Devon can teach in your Denver-area home. You will need a safe, clear area with enough room to move together. An additional travel fee applies and will be confirmed before booking.
